Mark Lawrenson delivers blunt verdict on Chelsea FC
The Liverpool FC legend blasts Chelsea FC's chaos in the off season

Mark Lawrenson has delivered a withering verdict on Chelsea FC ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Blues took their time to finally sack Antonio Conte despite their fifth placed finish in the English top flight last term.
Chelsea FC appointed Maurizio Sarri as Conte’s successor in July after the Italian coach led Napoli to runners up spot last season.
Sarri signed Italy international in a Jorginho £57 deal from Napoli to improve Chelsea FC’s midfield ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.
The Blues brought in veteran England goalkeeper Rob Green as well as Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic on loan.
Chelsea FC spent a world record fee for a goalkeeper on Athletic Bilbao shot stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga in a £71m deal.
Kepa will be tasked with replacing Thibaut Courtois after the Belgium international moved to Champions League holders earlier this month.
Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson hasn’t been impressed with Chelsea FC’s off field activity this summer.
“You have to be very careful with the way you read Mourinho because of the way he plays the media, and deflects attention from other things,” Lawreson told BBC Sport.
“Don’t write them off on the back of him messing about in a press conference, saying I haven’t got this or that. In fact, write them off at your peril.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
The Blues were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last term.
