Michael Owen predicts where Chelsea FC will finish under Frank Lampard
Former Liverpool FC striker Michael Owen is backing Chelsea FC to finish in the top four in Frank Lampard's first season in charge

Michael Owen is tipping Frank Lampard to steer Chelsea FC to a fourth-placed finish in his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues appointed their record goal-scorer as their new manager last month after Maurizio Sarri opted to part company with the west London side to take over the reins at Serie A giants Juventus.
Sarri finished his only season at Stamford Bridge on a positive note after Chelsea FC secured third place in the Premier League table and won the Europa League crown.
Lampard has been limited in his ability to improve the Chelsea FC squad given the west London side are currently serving a two-window transfer ban handed out by Fifa.
However, the Blues have still managed to strengthen their squad with the addition of Borussia Dortmund playmaker Christian Pulisic and Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is tipping Lampard to be a success in his first season at Stamford Bridge.
“Despite their current transfer embargo Chelsea can finish the campaign in the final Champions League spot under new boss Frank Lampard,” Owen told BetVictor.
“The Blues do have new £64m signing American international Christian Pulisic in their squad but begin life without Eden Hazard.
“Lampard looks likely to give his young guns Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount the opportunity to show they are ready for the fight ahead and it will be interesting to see the Blues starting XI for their opening game at Old Trafford.”
Lampard led Derby County to the Championship play-off final in his first season in charge of the west London side.
The Blues were 4-1 winners against Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku back in May.
Chelsea FC will start the new Premier League season with a trip to Manchester United on Sunday 11 August.
