Gary Lineker took to social media to reveal his delight as Leicester City claimed a point in a 1-1 draw at Chelsea FC on Sunday afternoon.

The west London side were playing their first home game at Stamford Bridge under new boss Frank Lampard following his appointment back in July.

Chelsea FC started brightly at Stamford Bridge and took the lead in the the seventh minute when Mason Mount won the ball off Wilfred Ndidi and fired home a solid finish.

However, the Blues were unable to add a second despite their dominance in the opening exchanges.

Leicester City drew level in the 67th minute when Ndidi netted an equaliser to make amends for his earlier error.

And former Leicester City man Lineker was active on social media throughout the game.

At half time, Lineker jokingly wrote on Twitter: “All @LCFC in the first half. Can’t believe they’re behind. 😬”

And after Ndidi’s equaliser in the second half, Lineker added in a separate post: “Yes Ndidi. 👏🏻”

After the final whistle, Lineker wrote in another tweet: “Cracking game of football. @ChelseaFC terrific in the first half. @LCFC superb in the second. Fair result. Well played one and all.”

The result leaves Chelsea FC still searching for their first Premier League win under Lampard after their 4-0 loss to Manchester United last weekend.

The Blues will return to action with a trip to Norwich City on Saturday lunchtime as they bid to bounce back from a stuttering start to the new campaign.
