Gary Neville is backing Manchester United to finish in the Premier League’s top four ahead of Chelsea FC this season.
The Red Devils laid down a marker on the opening weekend of the 2019-20 Premier League season when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side were 4-0 winners against Chelsea FC.
Goals from Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Daniel James sealed a resounding victory for the 20-time English champions in front of their home supporters.
Manchester United followed up their rout of Chelsea FC with a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night, extending their winless run to four games against Wolves.
Chelsea FC, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw with Leicester City in their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Sunday after Mason Mount’s opener was cancelled out by Wilfred Ndidi.
Both Chelsea FC and Manchester United have relatively inexperienced managers at the helm in the shape of Frank Lampard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Blues lost Eden Hazard to Real Madrid in the summer transfer window to leave the west London side short on world-class players.
And former Manchester United defender Neville is backing Manchester United to beat Chelsea FC to fourth place this season.
“I think United will get into the top four. Not because of what happened last week, I think United have got more options at centre-forward – Martial and Rashford,” Neville told Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
“I think Chelsea will struggle to score goals and losing Hazard was devastating for them.”
Manchester United will host Crystal Palace in their next Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon.
