Daniele Rugani’s agent has confirmed that Chelsea FC are keen on signing the defender from Juventus this summer.
The Blues have been strongly linked with a move to bring the Italian defender to Stamford Bridge this summer as Maurizio Sarri looks to bolster his options at the back ahead of his first season in charge.
The 23-year-old is believed to be one of the west London side’s top targets this summer as Sarri looks to conclude Chelsea FC’s transfer business before the window closes on 9 August.
Rugani worked under Sarri during a loan spell at Empoli and the new Chelsea FC boss is thought to be a keen admirer of the defender.
Now, Rugani’s agent Davide Torchia has confirmed that the Blues do want to sign the defender, but striking a deal with Juventus may prove difficult.
Speaking to Radio Sportiva, Torchia said: “The interest from Chelsea is there for Rugani.
“Beyond the figures though there’s a technical question, neither the player nor Juventus have ever said they want a sale.”
Chelsea FC are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings after having completed their first transfer by bringing in Jorginho earlier this month.
Sarri has been tasked with at least steering Chelsea FC back into the top four next season after they finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Antonio Conte last term.
