Alan Shearer heaps praise on N'Golo Kante following his fine performances for Chelsea FC this season
Alan Shearer has lavished praise on N’Golo Kante following his superb form for Chelsea FC in recent seasons.
The 26-year-old midfielder signed for the west London side from Leicester City in the 2016 summer transfer window and helped the Blues to win the Premier League last season, after also having lifted the trophy with the Foxes the campaign before.
Kante has earned rave reviews for his performance since his arrival in the Premier League and he was voted as the PFA player of the year in the 2016-17 campaign.
The midfielder has been in solid form for Chelsea FC this season as well, despite the Blues’ struggles in all competitions under Antonio Conte.
And former England star Shearer is clearly a big admirer of the France international.
Speaking after Kante’s strong display in Chelsea FC’s 2-1 win over Leicester in the FA Cup on Sunday, Shearer said: “His energy and his know-how of how to stop play and break play up is just fantastic.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in a crunch top-four clash at Stamford Bridge on 1 April.
The Blues are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table as they bid to break back into the top four before the season is out.
