Alvaro Morata has talked up Eden Hazard’s importance to the Chelsea FC team.

Hazard is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top attacking talents and Morata feels that the 27-year-old has been proving his worth to the west London club in recent weeks.

Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Morata said of Hazard: “I think he is one of the best.

“When he is fit and happy, probably to stop him is the hardest thing in the world.

“I think one to one, or even if you put two on him, he is one of the top three in the world. We are very happy to have Eden here and we hope he stays for a long time.”

The Spanish striker, like the rest of his team-mates, has been getting used to life under the new manager at Stamford Bridge after his appointment as Antonio Conte’s successor at the west London club back in July.

The 26-year-old endured something of a mixed first campaign in England last term when he signed for the Blues from Real Madrid back in July 2017.

He initially made a strong start to the season before he struggled for both form and fitness in the second half of the campaign.

Morata is now working hard to try and impress Sarri at Stamford Bridge as he looks to try and help the Blues enjoy a successful debut campaign under the new manager.

The Spain international had scored six goals in all competitions heading into Sunday’s clash with Everton and he has shown signs of improvement in recent weeks.

However, the striker feels that there is still plenty more to come from him at Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks and months.

Morata continued: “I think I can prove more.

“In the past it wasn’t easy for me, but this is a new season. I think it’s not important if you score 25 or 30 goals, it’s important you help the team to win.

“I prefer winning something and scoring less goals, but I will be so happy if I score a lot of goals and we win trophies this season.

“I’m a striker, it’s our job and it’s true that we need to score, and I am happy when I do.”

Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Tottenham way from home on 24 November.
