Rio Ferdinand makes prediction about Antonio Conte at Chelsea FC
Rio Ferdinand believes that Antonio Conte is set to leave Chelsea FC in the summer
Rio Ferdinand believes that Antonio Conte is set to leave Chelsea FC this summer.
The Italian’s future has been a constant source of speculation in recent months after a mixed second season in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea FC struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League as they ended up in fifth place in the table and missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.
The Blues did manage to end the season on a high on Saturday when they beat Manchester United 1-0 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
However, despite the positive end to the season, former Manchester United star Ferdinand seems to be convinced that Conte’s time at Stamford Bridge is poised to come to an end.
Speaking to BT Sport at the weekend, Ferdinand said: “I think Conte’s gone.
“I think all the signs this season have pointed towards him leaving. In his press conferences, his demeanour around the place… it’s totally different and a contrast to last year.
“The positivity that he threw into this squad beforehand has flipped and he’s at the other side of the spectrum now.”
Chelsea FC won the Premier League title in Conte’s first campaign in charge at Stamford Bridge last season, but the Blues struggled to find consistent form this term.
Attentions will now inevitably turn towards the summer transfer window and the players the Blues could look to sign this summer.
The west London side are likely to be on the lookout for a number of signings this summer as they look to assemble a team capable of winning the title.
