Antonio Conte has told John Terry that he is always welcome back at Chelsea FC.

The former Blues captain dropped into Cobham last week to watch a training session with Conte as the west London side prepared for their Premier League clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday evening.

Terry left Chelsea FC to sign for Aston Villa on a one-year contract last summer after helping the Blues to win the Premier League title under Conte last term.

The former Chelsea FC captain was all smiles on his return to his old club and Conte has insisted that he will always be welcomed back to the club in any capacity with open arms.

Speaking at a news conference at Cobham on Friday, Conte said: “For John, Chelsea is his home. He can come when he wants. The door is always open for him, and for the players who wrote the history of this club.

“For me, it’s always a pleasure to see him and have a chat with him. It’s right also for the players to see again their old captain.”

Conte is now preparing his Chelsea FC team for their crunch clash against FC Barcelona in the return leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday night.

The Blues played out a 1-1 draw with the Catalan giants at Stamford Bridge in the first leg last month.

Chelsea FC are aiming to break back into the top four before the season is out after a disappointing run of form left them adrift of the Champions League qualification spots in Conte’s second campaign in charge.
