Thibaut Courtois has hinted that he is ready to commit his long-term future to Chelsea FC.

The Belgian goalkeeper’s situation at Stamford Bridge has been a source of speculation in recent weeks as his current contract with the defending Premier League champions expires at the end of next season.

There has been no new contract signed by the shot-stopper and that has prompted speculation that Chelsea FC could look to cash in this summer rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next year.

There is bound to be fresh speculation about Courtois’ future at Chelsea FC over the coming weeks and months, but the goalkeeper himself has looked to play down the transfer talk by speaking out about his situation.

Courtois is quoted as saying by the Evening Standard: “I’m committed to Chelsea. I have a contract until next year and I will be here. I will do my best for it.

“Obviously there is no extension signed but I don’t think now is the moment to do it. I think it is better to wait until the end of the season. All I can say is I’m committed to Chelsea and also committed for next year.”

The Belgian will be hoping to help Chelsea FC to book their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday when the Blues take on Leicester City in the last eight.

The west London side head into the game after the disappointment of their 3-0 loss to FC Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday night in the last 16.

Chelsea FC are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table.
