‘Back to his best’: BBC Sport pundit raves about Chelsea FC youngster
Garth Crooks singles out Callum Hudson-Odoi for his fine display in Chelsea FC's 1-0 win over Newcastle

Gareth Crooks singled out Callum Hudson-Odoi for special praise after he helped Chelsea FC to claim a 1-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League on Saturday.
The 18-year-old has only just recovered from a lengthy lay-off with an Achilles injury but he impressed during the victory over the Magpies this weekend.
The teenager played the full 90 minutes and set up Marcos Alonso for the eventual winner midway through the second half at Stamford Bridge.
Hudson-Odoi has been in impressive form when called upon this season, and he has already notched up three assists in three appearances in the Premier League this season.
BBC Sport pundit Crooks was clearly impressed by what he saw from the teenager on Saturday and he picked him in his team of the week for the weekend.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Crooks said: “I don’t know what Frank Lampard is serving these youngsters for breakfast at Stamford Bridge but it certainly seems to be working.
“The latest protege to find himself back in the limelight is Callum Hudson-Odoi. I selected Hudson-Odoi in my team last season before he got injured but against Newcastle he looked back to his best.
“Chelsea are not the force they have been in the past but with Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Fikayo Tomori and Kurt Zouma – plus a little bit of luck and a fair wind – they could be winning trophies in two years.”
Hudson-Odoi will be hoping to feature when Chelsea FC return to Champions League action with a trip to Ajax on Wednesday night.
The Blues will then take on Burnley in the Premier League away from home on Saturday evening as they look to make it four wins on the spin in the top flight.
