David Luiz praises ‘great’ Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri
David Luiz admits that he's enjoying playing under new Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri
David Luiz has admitted that he is really enjoying playing under new Chelsea FC manager Maurizio Sarri.
The Brazilian defender is getting used to life under the Italian boss at Stamford Bridge after Sarri was brought in as Antonio Conte’s successor at the west London club last month.
David Luiz helped Chelsea FC to notch up their third straight win in the Premier League on Sunday as the Blues claimed a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
The Brazilian has been a regular fixture in the first team and has started all three of the Blues’ Premier League games so far this season.
The defender struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team last season under Conte but is now hoping to play a key role for the Blues this season.
And the 31-year-old admits that he is enjoying having a regular stint in the first team at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Luiz said: “It’s always great to play football, especially after I was out for six or seven months.
“I’m enjoying it a lot, we have a great philosophy, a great manager and an amazing spirit in the team so it’s great to be playing.
“We are trying to get points at the beginning because as everybody knows it’s a new system and a new philosophy so we are trying to do our best.
“It’s not easy to win points in the Premier League so if we can get them now, at the beginning of the season, when we are adapted to the style it’s going to be even better for us.”
Chelsea FC will look to make it four wins on the spin in the Premier League when they take on Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge this weekend.
The Blues are currently in second place in the Premier League table.
