Emerson: What I love about Frank Lampard at Chelsea FC
Emerson Palmieri explains why he is enjoying life under Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard so much
Emerson Palmieri has admitted that he has been thoroughly enjoying life under new Chelsea FC boss Frank Lampard this season.
The Blues have made a decent start to the new season under their former midfielder, although they have suffered something of a dip in form in recent weeks.
Indeed, Chelsea FC’s 1-0 loss to Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday was their third defeat in four games in the Premier League, and it has caused them to loosen their grip on fourth place in the table.
The 25-year-old Emerson has been a regular fixture in Lampard’s team this season, with the Italy international having started 10 of the Blues’ 17 games in the top flight this term.
And the defender has now opened up about why he has been enjoying life under the new Blues manager so much.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website before the loss to Bournemouth, Emerson said: “The thing I like most about Lampard is the way he treats us as a team and the way we always go out there to win, to attack and to play our own game, which is a game of lots of aggression and intensity.
“Because of that, we’re becoming more and more confident.
“It’s really important for the club to get to the next round of the Champions League. It was the objective we set for ourselves. Now we’re among the 16 best teams in Europe and it’s good for us to have that status.
“It shows the great work we are putting in, and it shows Frank Lampard is already proving to be a great manager who knows football so well.
“We need to continue believing in him and we can go even further.”
Chelsea FC will now dust themselves down as they prepare for their trip to Tottenham next weekend in their final game before Christmas.
The Blues remain in fourth place in the Premier League table as they seek Champions League qualification in Lampard’s first campaign in charge.
