Cesc Fabregas has revealed that he plans to stay at Chelsea FC until the end of the season.

The 31-year-old midfielder’s current contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire in the summer and that has inevitably led to speculation that he could be on his way out of the club in January.

Fabregas will be free to speak to foreign clubs about a potential transfer in January as the speculation about his future is likely to hot up.

However, when asked about his situation as his contract ticks down, Fabregas was quoted as saying by talkSPORT: “I haven’t spoken to anyone.

“Obviously in January I can sign (a pre-contract agreement) with whoever I want and probably this will attract many clubs.

“But so far, from what I can say right now, yes I will stay here until the end of the season.

“I play at Stamford Bridge, I’m happy. That’s the most important thing. But of course every player wants to play more.”

The former Arsenal captain has found his playing time to be somewhat restricted this season under new boss Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

Fabregas is yet to start a single Premier League game and has only made three appearances from the bench in the top flight so far this term.

He has, however, made four appearances in the Europa League and has notched up two assists in the competition.

Fabregas, who signed for the Blues from FC Barcelona back in 2014, will be hoping to be involved when Chelsea FC take on Fulham in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Sunday lunchtime.
