Rio Ferdinand reacts to Thibaut Courtois’ display in Chelsea FC’s 3-0 loss to FC Barcelona
Rio Ferdinand has his say about Thibaut Courtois' display after Chelsea FC's 3-0 loss to FC Barcelona

Rio Ferdinand pointed the finger at Thibaut Courtois after the Belgian goalkeeper endured a night to forget during Chelsea FC’s 3-0 Champions League defeat by Barcelona on Wednesday night.
The shot-stopper was at fault for Lionel Messi’s opener in the third minute at Camp Nou when the Argentine’s shot went through the goalkeeper’s legs as FC Barcelona went 1-0 up on the night.
Ousmane Dembele then made it 2-0 to the home side to put the Spanish side 3-1 up on aggregate in the 20th minute.
Courtois was then at fault again when Messi fired home through the goalkeeper’s legs once more in the 63rd minute to put FC Barcelona firmly in control.
The defeat left Chelsea FC playing for the FA Cup and a top-four finish in the Premier League this season.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand clearly was not too impressed by what he had seen from Courtois during the clash at Camp Nou.
Speaking during BT Sport‘s coverage of the game, Ferdinand said of the first goal conceded by Courtois: “The goalkeeper has got to do better there.
“You can’t get beaten there at your front post at such a tight angle.
“He’ll be devastated with that because he’s a top keeper – but that’s not good enough at this level.”
Chelsea FC must now dust themselves down as they prepare for their crunch FA Cup quarter-final clash against Leicester City on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues reached the final last season but were beaten by Arsenal at Wembley.
