Rio Ferdinand sends blunt warning to new Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri
Rio Ferdinand says Chelsea FC must keep hold of their star players this summer

Rio Ferdinand has told Maurizio Sarri that his main transfer priority this summer must be to keep Chelsea FC’s star players at the club.
The Blues are getting to grips with life under their new manager after he was appointed as Antonio Conte’s successor at Stamford Bridge last month.
Chelsea FC have been linked with a whole host of players this summer but the Blues have so far only signed Jorginho and Rob Green ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The likes of Eden Hazard, Thibaut Courtois, N’Golo Kante and Willian have all been linked with moves away from Chelsea FC so far this summer.
And former Manchester United defender Ferdinand feels that it is crucial that the west London side keep hold of their star players this summer.
Speaking to BT Sport after Chelsea FC’s 2-0 loss to Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday, Ferdinand said: “[Sarri] has got to keep hold of Courtois, Willian, Kante and Hazard.
“Can Chelsea do it? They need to because those players could them afloat in the Premier League.”
Chelsea FC will be aiming to at least break back into the top four next season after they finished fifth and won the FA Cup last season.
The Blues won the Premier League title in Conte’s first campaign at the club but struggled to produce consistent form in the top flight last season as they missed out on Champions League qualification.
