Frank Lampard tasked with sorting 18-year-old’s Chelsea FC future – report
Frank Lampard will try and convince Callum Hudson-Odoi to sign a new contract at Chelsea FC, say reports
One of Frank Lampard’s first tasks as Chelsea FC manager will be convincing Callum Hudson-Odoi to sign a new contract at the club, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Blues are close to appointing Lampard as their new boss and sorting out Hudson-Odoi’s situation will be one of his first priorities.
The same story says that Bayern Munich are still interested in signing the 18-year-old this summer, with Hudson-Odoi’s current contract set to expire at the end of next season.
It is claimed in the same story that Chelsea FC rejected a £22m bid from Bayern last week for Hudson-Odoi – and the Blues seem intent on trying to keep hold of the teenager.
According to the same article, keeping Hudson-Odoi at Chelsea FC is a “priority” for the Blues given their transfer ban and the sale of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid last month.
The story says that Chelsea FC are prepared to offer Hudson-Odoi a new five-year contract because they want him to stay at the club and develop under Lampard.
Hudson-Odoi was more of a regular fixture in the Chelsea FC team in the second half of last season but his campaign was cut short due to an Achilles injury.
