Chelsea FC want to bring in Frank Lampard to replace Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.
Sky Sport Italia, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that Chelsea FC are looking to change their manager this summer after Sarri’s disappointing first campaign at the club.
Sarri was brought in as the Blues’ new manager last summer and led them to a third-placed finish in the Premier League.
Chelsea FC still have the chance of ending the season with a trophy when they take on Arsenal in the Europa League final in Baku next week.
However, it is claimed in the same story that Chelsea FC want to replace Sarri regardless of the result against the Gunners.
According to the same story, Chelsea FC chiefs have been impressed by Lampard’s first season in charge at Derby after he led them to the Championship play-off final.
The story also says that the retiring Petr Cech has already been offered a role on Lampard’s coaching staff at Stamford Bridge.
It is also claimed in the same story that Sarri may not be out of work for long – as he is one of the names in the running to take over at Juventus.
