ESPN pundit raves about 18-year-old Chelsea FC talent
Craig Burley discusses Callum Hudson-Odoi's potential at Chelsea FC
Craig Burley believes that Callum Hudson-Odoi has the most potential of Chelsea FC’s current crop of youngsters.
The 18-year-old is one of a number of young talents that Frank Lampard has decided to give a chance to shine at Stamford Bridge this season.
Lampard has placed his faith in the likes of Mason Mount, 20, Tammy Abraham, 22 and Fikayo Tomori, 21, as the Blues boss gets used to life in charge at Stamford Bridge.
Hudson-Odoi has just returned from a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an Achilles injury but he has already notched up two assists in the Premier League this season.
The teenager has made a total of three assists in four appearances in all competitions this season and he looks set to have a bright future at the west London club after having recently signed a new long-term contract.
And former Chelsea FC midfielder Burley feels that Hudson-Odoi is set for a very good career at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking in an interview with ESPN FC, as quoted by the Daily Express, Burley said: “Abraham has impressed me because I did not think would be able to get the return of goals early on, from a player who I think is a little bit limited.
“He spent time on loan in the Championship at [Aston] Villa and did a decent job. So his goals return [is impressive].
“Mount’s impressed me with his composure and his ability to look as if he’s not fazed.
But I think ultimately, fitness dependant, Hudson-Odoi could be the best.
“But he needs to put a string of months together without injury because he’s coming off a bad [injury].”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break when they host Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
