Callum Hudson-Odoi: Why I made right decision staying at Chelsea FC
Callum Hudson-Odoi opens up about his decision to sign a new long-term contract with Chelsea FC
Callum Hudson-Odoi feels that he made the “right decision” by committing his future to Chelsea FC.
The 18-year-old signed a new long-term contract with the Blues back in September to keep him at the west London club until 2024.
Hudson-Odoi’s future at the west London club had been a constant source of speculation in recent transfer windows as the clock ticked down on his previous deal.
However, the teenager has now committed his future to the west London club after they brought in Frank Lampard as their new manager in the summer months.
Hudson-Odoi has just returned to full fitness after a lay-off with an Achilles injury, and the attacker is convinced that he made the right decision in staying at Chelsea FC.
Speaking in an interview quoted by the Evening Standard, Hudson-Odoi said: “The club have done so much for me and I’m so thankful for that.
“The decision that I made was a very good one for me and my family. We all thought that it was the right club to be at.
“I’ve been here all my life, so there’s no need to change yet. My mum and dad are happy where they are and I’m happy where I am.”
Hudson-Odoi has made two assists in two Premier League appearances for Chelsea FC so far this season, and he has also notched up one assist in the Champions League for Lampard’s men.
He will be hoping to feature when the Blues return to Premier League action after the international break with a home clash against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
