Chelsea FC star: The difference between Lampard and Sarri
Callum Hudson-Odoi opens up about the main difference he has noticed at Chelsea FC since Frank Lampard took over
Callum Hudson-Odoi has credited Frank Lampard with bringing some fresh positivity to the dressing room at Chelsea FC.
The former England international has been settling into life at Stamford Bridge after he was brought in as Maurizio Sarri’s successor back in July.
Sarri led Chelsea FC to a third-placed finish in the Premier League and the Europa League title in his one and only season in charge at the west London club.
Lampard has been tasked with helping Chelsea FC to finish in the top four once again this season as he looks to help the Blues challenge for top honours.
And Hudson-Odoi has now opened up about the main differences he has noticed since Lampard was brought in earlier in the summer.
Speaking in an interview with the London Evening Standard, Hudson-Odoi said: “The only thing [that has changed] is that we’ve got a more positive vibe in the changing room and on the pitch.
“We are all happy I think because the manager has come in, he used to be a great player himself at the club, and now he has come in and we all give respect to what he has done for the club before.
“I think the camp now is just more happy, more positive.”
He continued: “He [Lampard] has come in and given a lot of players a chance, even in training he is giving a lot of youth team players the chance to train with us.
“It is good for me because it is encouraging, you see players that you have watched or played with throughout the whole time and they are getting opportunities to play and you have that same hunger and desire, you want to play as well.
“It gives me the confidence and boost of if I am doing well, working hard in training I will get the opportunity to play as well.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are currently preparing for their Premier League showdown with Liverpool FC at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Blues have won two of their opening five Premier League games this term and will be keen to build some consistency under Lampard in the coming weeks and months.
