Ex-striker raves about Victor Moses after Chelsea FC’s 4-0 win at Brighton
Alan Smith praises Victor Moses for his fine display in Chelsea FC's 4-0 victory over Brighton on Saturday
Alan Smith heaped praise on Victor Moses after he capped his fine display with a goal in Chelsea FC’s 4-0 thrashing of Brighton Saturday afternoon.
Moses has been one of Chelsea’s top success stories at Stamford Bridge since Antonio Conte’s appointment at the west London club in the summer of 2016.
The Nigeria international has made the right wing-back role his own and has earned plenty of praise for his consistent displays for the west London side.
Moses was again in top form on Saturday and he ended up scoring the Blues’ fourth goal with a fine touch and finish in the 89th minute on the south coast.
And former Arsenal striker Smith was clearly impressed by what he saw from Moses in the thumping victory for Chelsea.
Speaking during Sky Sports‘ coverage of the game, Smith said: “He made quite a few runs in the second half, [he seemed] determined to try and get himself a goal.
“The first touch was lovely, that’s what gave him the chance, and you always knew he was going to score after that, Victor Moses.
“He’s got such a great engine, and that’s what got him the goal.”
Goals from Eden Hazard and Willian had put Chelsea 3-0 up before Moses added further gloss to the scoreline late on.
Chelsea will now switch their attentions towards preparing for their crunch League Cup semi-final clash against Arsenal at The Emirates on Wednesday night.
The two London sides played out a goalless draw when they last met at Stamford Bridge earlier in the month in the first leg.
