Maurizio Sarri: Chelsea FC youngster is potentially a ‘great’
Maurizio Sarri talks up Ruben Loftus-Cheek's potential role at Chelsea FC this season

Maurizio Sarri believes that Ruben Loftus-Cheek has the potential to develop into a “great” player at Chelsea FC.
The 22-year-old has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the first team at Stamford Bridge in recent seasons and he was shipped out on loan to Crystal Palace last term.
Loftus-Cheek started Chelsea FC’s final pre-season friendly clash against French side Lyon at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night as he put in a decent shift in west London.
The England international’s future has inevitably been a source of speculation this summer after his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge of late.
However, Sarri has appeared to indicate that Lofus-Cheek does indeed have a future at Stamford Bridge, although he admits that he must work on improving certain parts of his game.
Speaking at his post-match news conference on Tuesday night, Sarri said: “He is potentially a great player.
“He has to improve from the tactical point of view but that’s not a problem. He’s very young and I think he can be a very useful player for us.”
Chelsea FC will kick off their new Premier League campaign when they take on Huddersfield Town on Saturday.
The Blues are still being linked with a host of potential new signings before the summer transfer window closes on Thursday afternoon.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League and won the FA Cup under Antonio Conte last season.
