Chelsea FC are keen on signing Anthony Martial from Man United this summer, according to Ian McGarry
Chelsea FC are interested in signing Anthony Martial from Manchester United this summer but they have not yet made a formal offer for the striker, according to transfer insider Ian McGarry.
The Blues are believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as they bid to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League title next season under Maurizio Sarri.
Rob Green became Chelsea FC’s second signing of the summer last week when he joined the Blues on a one-year contract after the arrival of Jorginho from Napoli earlier this month.
Martial’s future at Manchester United has been something of a source of speculation in recent weeks and he has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Now, transfer insider McGarry has claimed that the Blues are interested in signing the 22-year-old striker from Manchester United this summer, but a formal offer has not yet been made.
Speaking on the Transfer Window podcast, McGarry said: “Chelsea are interested [in Martial]. They haven’t made a formal offer.
“Bayern Munich will only make a move if Man United lower their asking price.”
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League table and won the FA Cup last season under Antonio Conte.
However, the Blues opted to sack the Italian manager and replace him with Maurizio Sarri after they missed out on qualification for next season’s Champions League.
