Maurizio Sarri delivers update about Cesc Fabregas at Chelsea FC
Maurizio Sarri reveals Cesc Fabregas is closing in on a return to action for Chelsea FC

Maurizio Sarri has revealed that Cesc Fabregas is closing in on a return to action for Chelsea FC but he is still currently sidelined with a knee injury.
The 31-year-old midfielder is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Blues so far this season after having struggled with a painful knee in recent days.
Fabregas once again sat out Chelsea FC’s clash with Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as he continues to try and work his way back towards full fitness.
The midfielder will be hoping to quickly recover and prove himself as worthy of a regular spot in the first team under Sarri this season.
And the Chelsea FC manager delivered the latest update on Fabregas’ situation in the lead-up to the Blues’ Premier League clash with Bournemouth on Saturday.
Speaking at his pre-match news conference, Sarri said: “It is the same as last week. Cesc is still out. He is working in water and we are hoping that next week he will be able to work on the pitch.
“I am sure the injury is not serious, but he has pain out of the knee so it is a bit strange – but nothing serious.
“But the pain is still there so for him it is impossible to run on the pitch, only possible to run in water.”
Chelsea FC will be looking to challenge for a top four finish in the Premier League this season as they bid to try and qualify for next term’s Champions League.
The west London side finished in fifth place in the Premier League under Antonio Conte last term and won the FA Cup.
