Michy Batshuayi discusses what it's like to work under Frank Lampard at Chelsea FC this season
Michy Batshuayi has revealed that he is enjoying life under Frank Lampard at Chelsea FC, despite conceding that he “doesn’t speak a lot”.
The former England international has been getting used to life back at Stamford Bridge after having been appointed as the club’s new manager back in July.
Lampard’s Chelsea FC side have been earning lots of praise following their recent good run of form, which has allowed them to move up into the top four in the Premier League table.
Batshuayi, 26, has been called upon a relatively frequently by Lampard this season, although he has not been a regular starter in the Premier League for Lampard’s men.
The west London side seem to be adapting well to life under Lampard this season, and Batshuayi was full of praise for Lampard when quizzed about his coaching style before Saturday’s home clash against Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea FC’s website, Batshuayi said: “He [Lampard] has been very involved, and put a lot of work in.
“He emphasises the defensive work and the physical work a lot, which has been very interesting for me.
“He’s a very simple guy. He doesn’t speak a lot.
“Sometimes when he wants to have a laugh he tells jokes, but he knows when he needs to be focused and when he wants to relax.”
Chelsea FC will return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Manchester City on 23 November.
The Blues are aiming to try and remain in the top four this season after having finished third under Maurizio Sarri last term.
