Christian Pulisic reveals how Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang helped him to decide on a move to Chelsea FC this year
Christian Pulisic has revealed that he spoke to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang before his transfer to Chelsea FC this summer.
Pulisic agreed a deal to sign for Chelsea FC back in the January transfer window after having been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The USA international spent the rest of the season on loan to Borussia Dortmund before his move to Chelsea FC will officially go through this summer.
Pulisic knows Aubameyang from the time they spent together at Dortmund, with the Gabon international having signed for Arsenal in January 2018.
And Pulisic has now revealed how he spoke to Aubameyang to get the lowdown on London before deciding to join Chelsea FC.
Speaking in an interview quoted by Metro, Pulisic said: “When the possibility of my transfer to Chelsea came around, I reached out to him.
“Even though Pierre-Emerick left Dortmund for Arsenal, we remained in contact. I have spoken with him on and off ever since he moved here.
“I asked him how it was in London and stuff. He loves it here. He is a big city kind of guy, you can see that and he has told me about a few places to go see.”
Chelsea FC and Arsenal are set to do battle in the Europa League final next Wednesday night.
The Gunners are aiming to win the competition to secure a place in the Champions League for next season after they finished in fifth place in the Premier League table.
Meanwhile, Chelsea FC are aiming to end Maurizio Sarri’s first campaign in charge of the west London club by winning a trophy.
