Maurizio Sarri regrets Chelsea FC’s failure to sign Argentina star
Maurizio Sarri has his say on Chelsea FC's failure to sign Gonzalo Higuain this summer

Maurizio Sarri has revealed that he regrets the fact that Chelsea FC were unable to complete a deal to sign Gonzalo Higuain this summer.
The Blues were strongly linked with a move to bring the Argentina international to Stamford Bridge from Juventus this summer, but he ended up signing for AC Milan on loan from the Italian club.
Chelsea FC ended up bringing in midfielder Mateo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid before last week’s transfer deadline but the west London side did not bolster their striking options.
And Chelsea FC manager Sarri has conceded that he was a little bit disappointed that the Blues were not able to conclude a deal to sign Higuain this summer.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Sarri said: “Higuain? It’s a little regret but in the end everyone after the market have a few little regrets.”
Meanwhile, Sarri oversaw his first Premier League victory in charge of the Blues on Saturday as the Blues claimed a 3-0 win over Huddersfield Town in their season opener.
Sarri has been tasked with steering Chelsea FC back to the top of the Premier League table after the Blues ended up in fifth place last term under Antonio Conte and missed out on Champions League qualification.
