Chelsea FC could make a move to try and sign Wilfried Zaha in January, say reports
Chelsea FC will make a move to try and sign Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace in January if they can get their transfer ban overturned, according to reports in the British media.
The Sun is reporting that the Blues are keen on a move to bring the Ivory Coast international to Stamford Bridge after he was heavily linked with a switch away from Selhurst Park in the summer window.
According to the same story, Zaha reluctantly agreed to stay at Crystal Palace this summer but only until the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old was denied a move to Everton late in the summer transfer window after Palace opted to keep hold of the forward and rejected the Toffees’ advances.
The same story says that Zaha handed in a transfer request on Wednesday but he ended up staying at Palace for the first half of the season at the very least.
The article says that Chelsea FC are “convinced” that they will be able to overturn their transfer ban by the January window and they are taking note of Zaha’s situation.
It is claimed in the same story that Everton are unlikely to come back for Zaha after they signed Alex Iwobi from Arsenal on deadline day.
And that could pave the way for Chelsea FC to make a move to try and sign Zaha in January if their transfer ban is overturned.
