Maurizio Sarri accused of ‘killing’ Alvaro Morata at Chelsea FC
Garth Crooks says Alvaro Morata is struggling to adapt to life under Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea FC

Garth Crooks believes that Chelsea FC’s new style of play under Maurizio Sarri is “killing” Alvaro Morata.
The Blues maintained their solid start to the new season on Saturday as they notched up a 2-0 win over Bournemouth at Stamford Bridge to keep their 100 per cent record going.
The west London side have been earning lots of praise for their performances as they get used to life under their new manager following Antonio Conte’s sacking back in July.
Morata has scored one goal in the Premier League for the Blues so far this season, and has started all four of Chelsea FC’s top flight games.
However, Crooks feels that the west London side’s new style of play is not suited to Morata.
Writing in his column for BBC Sport, Crooks said: “Chelsea have become a much nicer team to watch than they were under Mourinho, and to a lesser degree Antonio Conte.
“Nevertheless, it’s killing Alvaro Morata. For all of Chelsea’s fancy play, when is Morata going to get a decent ball into the box to attack?
“He’s not a Diego Costa and certainly no Didier Drogba but he is very capable of scoring goals with the right service, and Hazard and co need to start giving that.”
Morata will be hoping to start for Chelsea FC when the Blues return to Premier League action after the international break with a clash against Cardiff City at Stamford Bridge.
Sarri has been tasked with at least steering Chelsea FC back into the Premier League’s top four after they finished fifth and won the FA Cup last term.
