Mark Lawrenson is backing Chelsea FC to beat Sheffield United 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues secured their first Premier League victory under Maurizio Sarri’s replacement Frank Lampard last weekend thanks to a 3-2 victory over Norwich City.

Tammy Abraham scored twice in the Premier League clash at Carrow Road to help the Blues end their winless start to the 2019-20 season.

Chelsea FC will take on Championship runners-up Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as the Blades look to secure their second win of the season.

Sheffield United have collected four points from their opening three Premier League games following a victory over Bournemouth in their season opener.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson is backing Chelsea FC to secure a 2-0 win against Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

“I loved Chris Wilder’s post-match news conference last weekend,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“He has been like that with his players all the time and I think it is great. As he says, if you don’t work hard what is the point?

“Chelsea got a good win at Norwich. Tammy Abraham got two goals and that will do him well. I think this is by far Sheffield United’s most interesting game in terms of seeing how they set up against one of the big six.”

Chelsea FC midfielder Mason Mount has scored in the west London side’s last two Premier League games against Leicester City and Norwich City.

The Blues finished in third place in the Premier League table last term before Chelsea FC won the Europa League title after a 4-1 victory over Arsenal.

Former Blues star Lampard took over the reins from Sarri in the summer after the Italian head coach decided to become the new Juventus manager.
