Bayern Munich are still interested in Callum Hudson-Odoi but the England international is more likely to sign a new deal at Chelsea FC, according to Bundesliga expert Raphael Honigstein.

The Bundesliga champions made a number of bids to sign the promising Chelsea FC winger in the 2019 January transfer window but the Blues rejected two offers in the region of £35m for the teenager.

Maurizio Sarri initially resisted the temptation to throw the 18-year-old straight into the Chelsea FC team but the Italian coach eventually gave Hudson-Odoi some first-team minutes.

The 18-year-old impressed with four goals and two assists in nine games in the Europa League as Hudson-Odoi helped Chelsea FC to reach the latter stages of the Europa League.

Hudson-Odoi also scored one goal and made one assist in 13 appearances in the Premier League, FA Cup and the League Cup.

The Chelsea FC number 20’s season was cut short of a serious Achilles injury in April as the Blues forward entered the final 12 months of his current deal at Stamford Bridge.

However, Bundesliga expert Honigstein believes Hudson-Odoi is more likely to sign a new deal with Chelsea FC rather than move to Bayern Munich this summer.

Asked about Bayern’s interest, Honigstein told Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast:

“They [Bayern] never stopped revisiting the situation. The interest has been constant.

“It has worked out well for Hudson-Odoi. There was pressure on Sarri and perhaps Southgate to play him. Suddenly he’s a Chelsea and England player.

“Chelsea have worked really hard to get him to extend his contract. The temptation must be that he’s English and Chelsea want him here.

“Chelsea could be his team. Lampard could really help his development so he’ll stay.”

Hudson-Odoi made his England debut in a 5-0 victory over Czech Republic at Wembley in March.
