Reporter: Chelsea FC have been working on Christian Pulisic deal for 12 months
The Daily Record reporter Duncan Castles claims Chelsea FC have been working on Christian Pulisic deal for over 12 months
Chelsea FC are working on a deal to sign Borussia Dortmund playmaker Christian Pulisic, according to Daily Record reporter Duncan Castles.
The United States international has been one of Dortmund’s best players over the past couple of seasons to earn rave reviews around Europe.
Pulisic has scored one goal and has made two assists in four starts and five substitute appearances in the Bundesliga this season.
The American playmaker has helped Dortmund to establish a nine-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table.
Pulisic has less than 18 months left to run on his current deal and the 20-year-old as it expires in the summer of 2020.
Chelsea FC and Liverpool FC have been regularly linked with swoops to sign the Dortmund attacker over the past 24 months or so.
Now, Daily Record reporter Castles has revealed that Chelsea FC have been working on a potential deal for Pulisic over the past year.
“Chelsea have been working on this deal for over a year now,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“He has refused to sign a contract with Dortmund. Dortmund are aware he is going to leave. Chelsea might me under pressure to do this deal in January because they are under investigation by Fifa.”
Pulisic arrived at Dortmund when Liverpool FC manager Jurgen Klopp was still in charge at Westfalenstadion.
However, the American playmaker didn’t make his Dortmund debut until Thomas Tuchel had taken over the reins.
The United States international has netted 10 goals in 78 games in all competitions over the past four seasons at Dortmund.
