Chelsea FC officials have travelled to Italy to hold talks about signing Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to reports

Chelsea FC officials have travelled to Italy to hold talks about signing Juventus defender Daniele Rugani, according to reports in the British media.
The Times is reporting that the Blues are still keen on a deal to bring the 23-year-old defender to Stamford Bridge this summer as they look to try and build a squad capable of winning the Premier League next season.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth place in the Premier League last term and won the FA Cup under Antonio Conte but they opted to sack the Italian and bring in Maurizio Sarri as his replacement.
The west London side have been strongly linked with a move to bring Rugani to Stamford Bridge this summer.
Although the Blues are believed to be keen to complete a deal, the same report says that Chelsea FC are currently reluctant to meet Juventus’ £40m asking price.
The same story says that Chelsea FC have also been offered the chance to sign Rugani’s Juventus team-mate Miralem Pjanic this summer.
Chelsea FC will be aiming to at least break back into the top four next season in Sarri’s first campaign in charge.
They completed their second signing of the summer last week by bringing in Rob Green on a one-year deal.
