Reporter claims 27-year-old is considering Chelsea FC future
Reporter Jonathan Wilson claims Eden Hazard is considering his future at Chelsea FC
Eden Hazard is considering his future at Chelsea FC, according to reporter Jonathan Wilson.
The Belgium international scored the first-half penalty that proved decisive in Chelsea FC’S 1-0 win against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley last weekend.
Hazard scored 12 times and made six assists in 36 appearances in the Premier League, but the 27-year-old couldn’t help the Blues to finish in the top four.
The Chelsea FC number 10 has been regularly liked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window following the Blues’ frustrating season.
Hazard has 24 months left on his current deal and the Chelsea FC star has proven reluctant to commit to a contract extension.
The Daily Telegraph reporter Wilson believes the Blues could lose Hazard this summer with the Belgium international considering his long-term future.
“There has been a lot of talk about Real Madrid but I never thought there was much substance to it,” Wilson told the Second Captains podcast.
“Two things have happened. He is now 27 and he hasn’t kicked on and could have another level to reach. If you’re not in the Champions League and heading into 28, 29, that’s a problem. His rhetoric has changed. He has been saying he would decide in the summer.
“He left [his future] it open. At the very least he is considering his future. I wouldn’t be surprised if he moves on.”
Hazard has won the Premier League title in two of the past four seasons as well as the FA Cup and the League Cup.
The Blues star moved to Chelsea FC from Ligue 1 side Lille in the 2012 summer transfer window despite interest from Manchester City and Manchester United at the time.
