Insider rules out Chelsea FC signing top 29-year-old La Liga forward
Serie A expert James Horncastle believes Chelsea FC won't be able to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid this summer

Chelsea FC don’t have the financial means to sign Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale this summer, according to James Horncastle.
The Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League table following a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park on the final day of the season.
Chelsea FC ended up five points adrift of Liverpool FC to miss out on Champions League football for the second time in three seasons.
The Blues won the FA Cup thanks to a 1-0 victory over bitter rivals Manchester United at Wembley after Eden Hazard’s winner from the penalty spot.
The Belgium international has been regularly linked with a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid but a deal has failed to materialise so far.
The Blues have also been touted as a potential destination for Bale as the Wales international looks evaluate his future at Real Madrid.
Some reports have suggested that Chelsea FC could entertain the prospect of a swap deal involving Hazard and Bale.
Serie A giants Horncastle believes Chelsea FC don’t have the financial mite to sign Bale.
“I question whether Chelsea have the capability,” Horncastle told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“We’ve all seen their net spend. We’ve all heard Conte explain about it. Unless we saw some movement out of Chelsea.”
Bale would presumably be reluctant to miss out on Champions League football for a season at the age of 29.
