Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are set to battle it out to sign Chelsea FC full-back Marcos Alonso, according to a report in Spain.

Spanish media outlet AS is reporting that the La Liga duo are both interested in a deal to sign the Spain international following his impressive spell at Chelsea FC.

The same article states that Chelsea FC would be willing to Alonso in a deal worth around £25m before the close of La Liga’s summer transfer window.

According to the same story, Atletico and Real Madrid both consider the Blues defender as an affordable option.

Chelsea FC were 3-2 winners against Arsenal in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening thanks to Alonso’s 81st-minute winner.

The Blues have collected six points from their opening two Premier League games under new manager Maurizio Sarri following a 3-0 triumph over Huddersfield Town at John Smith’s Stadium.

The west London side finished Antonio Conte’s second and final season in charge with silverware after Chelsea FC were 1-0 winners against Manchester United in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League last season to miss out on a Champions League spot to condemn the Blues to Europa League football.
