Chelsea FC are holding talks with Inter Milan to sign Matias Vecino, according to Sky Sports News reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The Blues have been linked with a move to sign the Uruguay international in the summer transfer window to bolster Maurizio Sarri’s midfield ahead of the new Premier League season.
Vecino earned rave reviews during the World Cup after the 26-year-old helped Uruguay to reach the quarter-finals before a 2-1 loss to eventual winners France.
The Premier League has already seen one Uruguayan midfielder arrive this summer following Lucas Torreira’s £26m switch to Arsenal from Serie A side Sampdoria.
San Siro outfit Inter Milan are reported to be demanding £6m more for Vecino as Chelsea FC scramble to improve their squad ahead of transfer deadline day next week.
