Chelsea FC held talks with Ligue 1 playmaker this summer – report
Chelsea FC turned down the chance to sign Lyon skipper Nabil Fekir this summer, according to a report

Chelsea FC held talks with Nabil Fekir this summer but the Blues ultimately decided against a move to sign the Lyon captain, according to a report in England.
Website Goal is reporting that the FA Cup winners were in negotiations with Fekir over a potential move to Stamford Bridge following the appointment of Maurizio Sarri.
The same article states that the Blues ended their interest in Fekir after Chelsea FC managed to retain the services of key attackers such as Eden Hazard and Willian.
According to the same story, the west London outfit opted to sign Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.
Fekir was heavily linked with a move to Liverpool FC at the start of the transfer window ahead of his participation in the World Cup with the France national team.
The Lyon skipper was reported to have undergone a medical and selected a shirt number at Liverpool FC ahead of a proposed £52m move to the Anfield outfit.
However, the deal fell through due to Fekir’s past injury problems as Liverpool FC signed Xherdan Shaqiri, Alisson Becker, Naby Keita and Fabinho.
The Blues finished in fifth spot behind Liverpool FC in the Premier League table last term.
