Olivier Giroud has hinted that he would be willing to consider a move to Major League Soccer after falling down the pecking order at Stamford Bridge.

The France international has struggled to secure a starting spot in the Chelsea FC team since Frank Lampard took over the reins of the club.

The Blues manager has opted to go with Tammy Abraham in a centre-forward role to cast doubt on Giroud’s future at the west London side.

The 32-year-old could be used as an impact substitute throughout the season after falling down the pecking order at the Stamford Bridge outfit.

Giroud has spent the past eight years in the English capital at Arsenal before his switch across London to Chelsea in January 2018.

The Blues striker has admitted that he would be prepared to explore the possibility of a move to Major League Soccer in the near future.

“The MLS for my family, my children who speak English, it’s interesting,” Giroud is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail.

“In a year? In two years? I do not know when. But of course after that I will be open to a final challenge.”

Giroud’s only start in the Premier League so far this season came in a 1-1 draw with Leicester City at Stamford Bridge last month.

The French striker was a substitute against Manchester United, Norwich City and Sheffield United.

Abraham has found the net in Chelsea FC’s last two Premier League games, scoring four goals.

The Blues have collected five points from their opening four Premier League games.
