Chelsea FC prepared for interest in 22-year-old England star – report
Chelsea FC expect to receive interest in England international Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the January transfer window, according to a report
Chelsea FC are braced for a battle to keep Ruben Loftus-Cheek beyond the January transfer window, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Blues are prepared for interest from their fellow Premier League clubs following a frustrating spell for Loftus-Cheek at Chelsea FC.
The same article states that Crystal Palace are keen on a potential deal to sign the powerful 22-year-old midfielder to help Roy Hodgson keep the Eagles in the top flight.
Loftus-Cheek scored two goals in 25 games in the Premier League during a season-long loan at Crystal Palace throughout the 2017-18 campaign to earn a place in England’s World Cup squad.
The Chelsea FC star returned to Stamford Bridge in the summer but Maurizio Sarri’s arrival has seen Loftus-Cheek fall further down the pecking order following the arrivals of Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.
According to the same story, Bundesliga side Schalke 04 are also keeping tabs on the England international ahead of a potential bid to sign the Chelsea FC midfielder.
Loftus-Cheek has scored six goals in 39 games in all competitions during his five seasons at the west London side so far.
Chelsea FC are unbeaten in 12 games in the Premier League this season, having won eight times and drawn four games.
Loftus-Cheek will be hoping to play a part in Chelsea FC’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Saturday evening.
