Manchester City look set to beat Chelsea FC to the signing of 16-year-old Millwall striker Samuel Edozie this summer, according to a report

Manchester City appear set to beat Chelsea FC to the signing of Millwall teenager Samuel Edozie, according to a report in England.

The Evening Standard is reporting that both Chelsea FC and Manchester City have been keeping tabs on the 16-year-old throughout the 2018-19 season.

The same article states that Edozie is keen on a move to Manchester City to join their youth system despite Millwall’s eagerness for the prospect to remain at the London club.

According to the same story, Premier League champions Manchester City are eager to add the Millwall teenager to their pool of talent at their Academy.

The Citizens have reached the FA Youth Cup final in four of the past five seasons but Manchester City are still to win the competition.

Pep Guardiola’s men secured Premier League title glory for the second successive season after the Citizens finished a point ahead of Liverpool FC in the title race.

The Eastlands outfit missed out on Champions League glory following a loss to Tottenham Hotspur at the quarter-final stage in April.

Manchester City have won the Premier League title in the past two seasons, perhaps marking the start an era of dominance in the English top flight under Guardiola.

The Citizens also won the League Cup and FA Cup to complete domestic treble this season.
