Maurizio Sarri delivers latest Chelsea FC transfer update
Maurizio Sarri says he is hoping that Chelsea FC can sign one more player before Thursday's deadline
Maurizio Sarri has hinted that he is hopeful that Chelsea FC will be able to sign one more player before Thursday’s transfer deadline.
The west London side have already brought in Gonzalo Higuain on loan from Juventus until the end of the season as Sarri bolstered his attacking options at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea FC also completed a deal to land Christian Pulisic from Borussia Dortmund, but he will not link up with the Blues until the summer after he was loaned back to the German club.
It remains to be seen whether the west London side will be able to get any more deals over the line before the close of the transfer window on Thursday night.
And Sarri has now suggested that Chelsea FC could well be looking to bring in some new recruits this week.
Speaking at a news conference at Cobham before the Premier League trip to Bournemouth on Tuesday, Sarri said: “For us I thought it was important to get two players.
“One [Higuain] has arrived, and I’m waiting for the other. If he arrives I will be very happy, otherwise I have to work with these players.
“It’s not a big problem. Of course I have to adapt players in that position.”
Chelsea FC are looking to seal a top four finish this season after they ended up fifth last term.
The west London side will have their first chance to win a major trophy when they take on Manchester City in the League Cup final at Wembley on 24 February.
