Journalist explains why Chelsea FC won’t sell midfielder
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth pours cold water on AC Milan signing Chelsea FC star Tiemoue Bakayoko

AC Milan would struggle to afford a deal to sign Chelsea FC star Tiemoue Bakayoko this summer, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.
The France international endured a forgettable first season at Stamford Bridge following his move to Chelsea FC in a £40m deal from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco last summer.
Bakayoko arrived in the English capital with a big reputation after the holding midfielder helped AS Monaco to win the Ligue 1 title and reach the Champions League semi-finals in 2016-17.
The 23-year-old scored two goals in 24 starts and five substitute appearances in his debut Premier League season to make an unconvincing start to his Blues career.
Bakayoko is facing increased competition for a starting spot at Chelsea FC under new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri following the arrival of Italy international Jorginho in a £57m deal from Napoli.
AC Milan have been linked with a potential swoop to sign France international Bakayoko to challenge Serie A champions Juventus.
Sky Sports reporter Sheth doesn’t believe AC Milan can finance a deal for Bakayoko.
“Bakayoko joined from Monaco in a £40m deal last summer,” Sheth told Sky Sports Transfer Talk podcast.
“It is thought Milan would struggle to afford the asking price if Chelsea were to consider to sell. I think financial constraints could prevent it from happening.”
Bakayoko scored against Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town in the Premier League last term.
Chelsea FC finished in fifth spot in the Premier League table last term behind champions Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool FC.
