Harry Redknapp is backing Chelsea FC to ease past Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues are looking to secure their first Premier League victory at Stamford Bridge under Frank Lampard.

Chelsea FC lost 2-1 to Liverpool FC in west London last weekend despite an improved second-half display.

The Blues have collected two points from their opening three home games in the league following stalemates with Leicester City and Sheffield United.

Chelsea FC are in mid-table after having earned eight points from six games since Lampard took over the reins from Maurizio Sarri.

Brighton, meanwhile, are in 15th place in the Premier League table and two points adrift of Chelsea FC.

The Seagulls lost 4-0 to Manchester City in the Premier League on the road earlier this season.

Former Spurs manager Redknapp is confident that Lampard and his Chelsea FC team can finally secure a home win in the Premier League.

“This always looked like a year of transition for Chelsea under new manager Frank Lampard and a 2-1 home loss against Liverpool last weekend confirmed the Blues are still some way short of challenging for the title and perhaps even a top four finish,” Redknapp told BetVictor.

“However, they have still recorded some excellent results; notably, an eye-catching 5-2 victory over Wolves at Molineux and with a kind-looking set of fixtures ahead, can begin climbing the table.

“The Pensioners host Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon and this looks an ideal opportunity to bounce back and gain three points.

“Albion started their season with a bang but have failed to follow up an opening day 3-0 win at Watford and find themselves hovering just above the relegation zone.

“A 1-3 home defeat against Aston Villa on Wednesday in the League Cup did little for confidence and manager Graham Potter has a mounting injury list to contend with now.

“The Seagulls continue to find scoring goals a problem and will find defending against a potent Chelsea attack, who netted seven times in a midweek cup success over Grimsby, even more difficult and I fully expect a comfortable win for the Londoners.”

Chelsea FC turned to Lampard after Sarri opted to quit Stamford Bridge and take over the reins of Juventus in the summer.

The Blues have beaten Wolverhampton Wanderers and Norwich City in the Premier League campaign so far.

Chelsea FC will return to Champions League action on Wednesday night with a trip to French club Lille.
