Michael Owen is backing Chelsea FC and Manchester United to play out a draw in the fifth round of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Manchester United head into the game as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of slipping to a 2-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16 on Tuesday night at Old Trafford.

That defeat was their first loss since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took temporary charge at Old Trafford back in December and the Red Devils will be keen to make amends as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, Chelsea FC boss Maurizio Sarri has found himself under intense pressure in recent weeks following his side’s stuttering form in the Premier League.

The Blues have lost three of their last four Premier League games and they were thrashed 6-0 by Manchester City at The Etihad last weekend to seriously dampen their hopes of finishing in the top four.

The stage is set for a thrilling FA Cup clash between the two sides in west London on Monday night, and former Liverpool FC striker Owen is expecting the game to end in a scoring draw.

Writing in his column for BetVictor, Owen said: “It has not been a great couple of days for either team with Chelsea hit for six by Manchester City on Sunday before United were brought back down to earth with a bang against PSG in the Champions League 1st leg earlier in the week.

“The game is a repeat, of course, of last season’s final which Chelsea won 1-0 and the Blues have actually beaten United on the last four occasions they have met in the competition.

“Both clubs have a rich history in the competition and Chelsea are looking to reach the last eight for the fourth season in a row – United are looking to reach the quarter-finals for the five season on the spin.

“United have only won two of their last 22 away games at Chelsea in all competitions, but I feel they will get a replay from what promises to be a hugely entertaining tie.”
