Michael Owen is backing Chelsea FC to ease to a comfortable win over Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues recorded their first Premier League victory under Frank Lampard last weekend thanks to a 3-2 victory over promoted side Norwich City at Carrow Road.
Tammy Abraham scored a second-half winner to secure a narrow victory after the 21-year-old broke the deadlock in the third minute of the Premier League clash.
Chelsea FC will be looking to record back-to-back Premier League victories by beating another promoted team this weekend when Sheffield United make the trip to west London.
Sheffield United lost 2-1 to Leicester City last weekend after the Championship winners managed to collect four points from their opening two top-flight fixtures.
Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is backing Chelsea FC to ease to a comfortable win against Sheffield United at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
“I was impressed with Chelsea going forward at Carrow Road at the weekend but felt they were vulnerable defensively against Norwich and it would not surprise me if Sheffield United had their opportunities at Stamford Bridge,” Owen told BetVictor.
“If you include the play-offs Tammy Abraham has now scored 28 league goals since the start of last season and his brace at Norwich at the weekend suggested there are many more goals to come from the striker in the top-flight this season.”
Chelsea FC appointed Lampard as their manager in the summer after Maurizio Sarri decided to take over at Juventus following one season in charge.
The Blues lost 4-0 to Manchester United in their season opener at Old Trafford before a 1-1 draw with Leicester at Stamford Bridge.
The west London side suffered a defeat by Liverpool FC in the Uefa Super Cup in Istanbul earlier this month.
