Charlie Nicholas is backing Chelsea FC to ease to a comfortable victory over West Ham United in the London derby at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues will be eager to maintain their seven-point advantage over fifth-placed Wolves following their 2-1 loss to defending Premier League champions Manchester City last weekend.

Chelsea FC saw their six-game winning run come to an end at The Etihad despite N’Golo Kante giving Frank Lampard’s side a first-half lead in a credible performance on Eastlands.

They’ll have the opportunity to return to winning ways against an out-of-form West Ham side that haven’t secured a Premier League win since a 2-0 victory over Manchester United in mid-September.

The Hammers have lost six times and drawn twice in their last eight games in all competitions to raise questions about Manuel Pellegrini’s future at the club.

Former Arsenal midfielder Nicholas is backing Chelsea FC to beat West Ham comfortably at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.

“I said Manuel Pellegrini was the favourite to go if he lost at Tottenham and I am pretty surprised he is still there,” Nicholas told Sky Sports.

“The fightback probably got him over the line. It is the best batch of players they have had but Mark Noble is probably in there arguing with team-mates and looking at the players who need to be giving more.

“West Ham is Frank Lampard’s old club, Chelsea like to turn over West Ham and I can’t see anything else. Chelsea will have just got back from the Champions League but it should be comfortable enough for them.”

Chelsea FC are looking to record their fifth consecutive home win without conceding a goal for the first time in the Premier League since 2015.

Lampard won 13 of 19 Premier League games as a player against his former club West Ham, scoring seven times.

Chelsea FC are unbeaten at home against West Ham in a run stretching back to 2002.
