Jose Mourinho refuses to take any credit for Fernando Torres' recent improved performances for Chelsea

Jose Mourinho has refused to take any credit for Fernando Torres’ recent improved performances for Chelsea.
After setting up the opener, the Spanish striker netted a dramatic late winner at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as the Blues sealed a 2-1 win over title rivals Manchester City.
That impressive display came after he scored twice in Chelsea’s 3-0 Champions League win at Schalke.
Much has been made of Torres’ struggles to find consistent form at Chelsea since his £50m transfer to the west London club from Liverpool back in January 2011.
But Mourinho insists that the Spanish striker’s improved displays are mainly down to the hard work of the 29-year-old and not the Portuguese coach’s influence.
“I repeat, I did nothing,” said Mourinho ahead of Chelsea’s trip to Newcastle United on Saturday.
“I did what I always do in trying to get the best out of the players, but in a very normal way.
“Fernando is responsible for his self-motivation and his commitment and the way he is working every day.
“I don’t want Fernando to be influenced by these wins. I want him to be stable and not worried about proving himself or worried about scoring or not scoring. Against Newcastle he just needs to work for the team.”
