Jamie Redknapp sends warning to Chelsea about 24-year-old signing
The former Liverpool and Spurs captain has reservations about new Chelsea signing Alvaro Morata ahead of the new season

Jamie Redknapp has expressed his concerns that new Chelsea signing Alvaro Morata has never been first-choice at a top club.
The Premier League champions signed the Spain international in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid last month.
Morata was signed by the west London side after the Blues missed out on Romelu Lukaku following the Belgian striker’s move to Manchester United.
The former Juventus striker missed his spot-kick in the Community Shield last weekend as Arsenal beat Premier League champions Chelsea on penalties.
Diego Costa is being tipped to leave Chelsea this summer after Antonio Conte told the controversial striker that he is surplus to requirements following last season’s title success.
Chelsea will start the defence of their Premier League title with a home clash against Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham skipper Redknapp has expressed his concerns about Morata ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
“Costa is so good and unplayable on his day,” Redknapp told The Debate on Sky Sports.
“Chelsea have taken a player in Morata who we all watch and think he has good ability, but he’s never been a regular somewhere.
“They’ve paid a lot of money for him and let go a Premier League great on his day.”
Morata scored 15 times in 26 appearances in La Liga last season after the centre-forward completed a £29m move back to Real Madrid last summer.
Chelsea have also signed Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero and AS Roma defender Antonio Rudiger.
